Refurbishing of the access roads off Allegheny River Blvd between Sandy Creek and Nadine Roads has been completed.

Site restoration work will continue off of Greenridge Drive in the Hunter Gardens Penn Hills Township as the weather permits.

Crews will be installing wire in the right of way off of Allegheny River Blvd in the area of Sandy Creek road to the hollow going towards the Shopping Center in Verona the week of January 30th.

Tree trimming will continue in the area off the Fifth Street Extension in Penn Hills Township.

January 19, 2012

Refurbishing of the access roads off Allegheny River Blvd will continue between Sandy Creek and Nadine Roads through the week of January 23th.

Site restoration work will continue off of Greenridge Drive in the Hunter Gardens Penn Hills Township.

Crews are installing wire in the right of way off of Elliott St. and Riverview Dr. Crews will be installing rope in preparation for wire pulling in the right of way off of Vista View Dr. and Della Dr approximately Jan 22nd and 23rd.Wire Pulling will start around Jan 25th in this area.

Tree trimming will continue in the area off of Springwood and Friar Drives and off the Fifth Street Extension in Penn Hills Township.

Refurbishing of the access roads off Allegheny River Blvd will continue between Sandy Creek and Nadine Roads through the week of January 16th.

Site restoration work will continue off of Morath Drive and on the hillside between Hulton and Hunter Roads in Penn Hills Township

Crews are installing wire on Mount Ave. and Sylvan St. across Shannon and Indian Creek Roads in Penn Hills Township. Crews will be installing rope for wire pulling on the poles in the right of way between Elliott St. and Riverview Dr the week of January 16th. Wire pulling in that area will start approximately January 17th or 18th. Crews will be installing rope in preparation for wire pulling in the right of way off of Vista View Dr. and Della Dr approximately Jan 20th and into the week of January 23rd.

Tree trimming will continue in the off of Hunter Road and in the area off of Springwood and Friar Drives in Penn Hills Township.

There may be some brief closures of the Fifth Street Extension during the positioning of wire pulling equipment. Crews will be installing rope for wire pulling on Mount Ave and Sylvan St across Shannon and Indian Creek Roads starting on January 6th. Wire pulling ,in this area, will start the week of January 9th.

Wire installation is in progress near the Logans Ferry Substation off Coxcomb Hill Road in Plum Borough. Wire installation will take place across Coxcomb Hill Road from the substation to the PA. Turnpike the week of November7th. Wire installation will take place across Hulton Road into the Hunter Heights section of Penn Hills the week of November 14th. A helicopter will be used to install rope for the wire pull the week of Nov14th.

Refurbishing of the access road behind the storage facility off Allegheny River Blvd near Sandy Creek Road will continue through mid November.

Wire installation is in progress near the Logans Ferry Substation off Coxcomb Hill Road in Plum Borough. Wire installation across the Pa. Turnpike is scheduled for November 1 and 2. The Turnpike will be closed for 15 minute intervals between 10:00 am and 2:30 for installation of the wire.

October 20, 2011

Refurbishing of the access roads off Allegheny River Blvd will continue between Sandy Creek and Nadine Roads.

Wire installation is in progress near the Logans Ferry Substation off Coxcomb Hill Road in Plum Borough. Wire installation across the Pa. Turnpike is scheduled for October 25 and 26th. The Turnpike will be closed for 15 minute intervals between 10:00 am and 2:30 for installation of the wire.

Wire installation is scheduled in the Hulton Road Area of Penn Hills Township and in the area on the hillside behind Hunter Heights the week of October 28 Th. A helicopter will be utilized to install the rope required for the wire pull.

Wire installation is scheduled to begin on October 17th in the area near the Logans Ferry Substation off Coxcomb Hill Road in Plum Borough.

Poles of the former transmission line will be removed the week of October 16th off of Allegheny River Blvd. between Nadine and Sandy Creek Roads.

Drilling of a pole hole and installation of an anchor bolt will take place off of Allegheny River Blvd. between the Shopping Center and Sandy Creek Road the week of September 26th. Grading of the area to mitigate any future landslides will also take place in the same area.

Pole installation on Sylvan Street in the Penn Hills/Verona Area will take place on September 26th with a rain date of Sept. 27th. Sylvan Street will be closed while the pole is being installed.

Pole installation will take place near Hunter Road and off of Vista View Dr. in Penn Hills Township the week of September 26th.

Wire installation is scheduled to begin on October 10th in the area near the Logans Ferry Substation off Coxcomb Hill Road in Plum Borough.

The Fifth street Extension is scheduled to be closed for a period on Thursday August 25th while the pole is being set.Pole installation will also take place off of Hulton Road and in the Rest Land Memorial Park Cemetery in Penn Hills. A pole will also be installed near the Vets Hospital in the City of Pittsburgh.

Wire installation is scheduled to begin on Sept.6Th in the area off of the Logans Ferry Substation in Plum Borough.

Drilling of pole holes and installation of anchor bolts will continue in the vicinity of Riverview Dr., Elliott St. and Sylvan St in Penn Hills Township. Drilling of pole holes and installation of anchor bolts will also take place off of Allegheny River Blvd between the Shopping Center and Sandy Creek Road.

Pole installation will continue in the area across from Logans Ferry Substation off of Coxcomb Hill Road in Plum Borough near the water tower. Poles will be installed in the Area near the Pa. Turnpike and off Hulton Road in Penn Hills.

The installation of a pole foundation near Highland Substation and the Veterans Hospital in the City of Pittsburgh will take place during the Week of August 8TH.

Drilling pole holes and installation of anchor bolts will continue in the vicinity of Springwood Drive, Hunter Road, Greenridge Drive and the Fifth St. Extension in Penn Hills Township.

Construction of Access Roads off of Sandy Creek Road and Nadine Road in Penn Hills Township has been completed. The core boring off of Sandy Creek Road will take place on July 25th and the core boring off of Nadine Road is scheduled for July 26nd.

Pole installation will start on Monday July25th in the area behind the Water Tower off Coxcomb Hill Road near Logans Ferry Substation.

The tower on Mount St in Penn Hills Township will be removed on July 26th.

Drilling pole holes and installation of anchor bolts will continue in the vicinity of Springwood Drive, Hunter Road, Greenridge Drive and the Fifth St. Extension in Penn Hills Township.

Construction of Access Roads off of Sandy Creek Road and Nadine Road in Penn Hills Township has been completed. Core borings off Sandy Creek Road will start on July 18 and a core boring off Nadine Road is scheduled for July 22nd.

Demolition of the existing line for the section between Sandy Creek and Nadine Roads in Penn Hills Township is scheduled to start on July 25th.

Construction of the access roads in the vicinity of Logans Ferry Substation off Coxcomb Hill Road in Plum Borough will begin approximately June 16th and continue for several weeks.

Drilling pole holes and installation of anchor bolts will start on June 20 in the vicinity of Logans Ferry Substation off Coxcomb Hill Road in Plum Borough.

Crews are scheduled to remove the wire crossing the Pa. Turnpike on Tuesday June 21 between 9and 11 AM. Traffic will be stopped on the Turnpike for 15 minute intervals to permit removal of the wire. The rain date is June 22nd.

Construction of access roads off Allegheny River Blvd. from Sandy Creek Rd toward Verona is in progress and will continue for the next two weeks. Core borings will take place in this area around June 20th after completion of the access roads.

Construction of the access roads in the vicinity of Logans Ferry Substation off Coxcomb Hill Road in Plum Borough will begin approximately June 16th and continue for several weeks.

Construction of access roads off Mount Ave, Riverview and Vista View Drives in Penn Hills Township will begin the week of June 6th.

Demolition of the existing line has started. Crews will remove the wires in the areas of Hulton Rd, Greenridge Dr., Hunter Rd, Springwood Dr, and the Hunter Ridge Area in Penn Hills Township. On June 6th and 7th, Hunter Rd. in Penn Hills near the Hunter Gardens Apartments will be restricted to one lane as crews remove wire over Hunter RD. During the week of June 13th, crews will remove the poles in these same areas.

Poles installation in the vicinity of the Veterans Hospital and Highland Substation has been completed. Nine poles were installed.

Construction of the access roads in the vicinity of Logans Ferry Substation off Coxcomb Hill Road in Plum Borough will begin on June 6 and continue for several weeks.

Demolition of the existing line will begin on May 31. Crews will remove the wires in the areas of Hulton Rd, Greenridge Dr., Hunter Rd. and Springwood Dr in Penn Hills Township. The week of June 6th, crews will remove the poles in these same areas.

Refurbishing of the access roads near the Veterans Hospital off Leech Farm Road in the City of Pittsburgh is in progress. Excavation of the foundations for the poles in the vicinity of the Veterans Hospital and Highland Substation is continuing with expected completion by April 22nd. Seven of the nine foundations have been installed.

Refurbishing of the access roads off of Allegheny River Blvd. will continue between Sandy Creek and Nadine Roads. Soil test boring in that same area continues.

Construction of access roads off of Allegheny River Blvd. from Sandy Creek Rd toward Verona is in progress and will continue for the next several weeks. Soil test boring will take place in this area when construction of the roads has been completed.

Demolition of the existing line from Logans Ferry substation to the span near the turnpike crossing has been completed.

Refurbishing of the access roads will continue near the Veterans Hospital off Leech Farm Road in the City of Pittsburgh.

Refurbishing of the access roads will continue off Allegheny River Blvd between Sandy Creek and Nadine Roads.

Monday April 4, soil borings will begin in the area between Nadine Rd. and Sandy Creek Road.

Tuesday April 5, Excavations for the foundations for the poles in the vicinity of the Veterans Hospital and Highland Substation will begin on April 5th. A drilling rig will dig the holes, rebar and anchor bolt cages will be installed and concrete will be placed.

Later in the week of April 3, construction of access roads will commence off Allegheny River Blvd. from Sandy Creek Rd. toward Verona.

Week of March 27, 2011

Tuesday March 29, work will resume on the access roads off of Allegheny River Blvd. between Sandy Creek Road and Nadine Road. Construction of additional access roads off of Allegheny River Blvd. will take place later in the week.

Wednesday March 30, refurbishing work is expected to begin on the existing access roads near the Veterans Hospital off of Leech Farm Road in the City of Pittsburgh.

Thursday March 31, soil borings will commence on the hillside off of Allegheny River Blvd.

Wednesday March 23, demolition of the existing 69KV line will begin between the Logans Ferry Substation in Plum Borough and the PA Turnpike. Crews will be removing the wire and the old wood poles. In this area the line crosses Coxcomb Hill Road and winds behind the Presbyterian Senior Care Center in Plum Borough.
